Dear L3 Harris MAS Employees:
On October 18, 2022, the Canadian Industrial Relation Board (CIRB) officially certified the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) as the collective bargaining agent for the aircraft maintenance professionals at L3 Harris MAS as CFB Trenton (L3). On behalf of the Officers and Representatives of the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association, I would like to welcome you to the Association. This Digital New Member Package contains information regarding the next steps to establish membership with AMFA. All L3 members will be assigned to Local 4 in Chicago. Please visit www.amfa4.com for more information about your Local Officers and Representatives and Local Updates.
Active members in good standing are entitled to attend Association meetings and negotiations; nominate and run for union office at the Local and National level; exercise voting rights in all Local and National elections and referenda; and submit contract proposals and participate in all contract related votes. To become an active member in good standing and start exercising your rights as an AMFA member, please review the attached documents and complete two easy steps:
- Application for Membership – submit the attached Application for Membership via email to admin@amfanatl.org or fax to 303-362-7736. Be sure to include your address, cell phone, and personal email address on this form.
- AMFA National Website Registration –We encourage all members to register with the AMFA National Website (under “Member Resources”) and to download the new AMFA app to ensure that you receive the most up-to-date news from the Association. In addition, you will have access to AMFA news, publications, negotiation updates, and links to National Officers, AMFA Locals, and government agencies.
- You must supply a personal email address to receive Association and negotiation updates as well as voting communications.
In accordance with the AMFA Constitution, all members are obligated to pay union dues in the amount of two times (2x) your base rate. The Company has confirmed that these dues payments will be automatically deducted from your paycheck starting in November 2022. AMFA National Policy waives the new member $100.00 initiation fee described in the AMFA Constitution for your group provided you submit a Membership Application by November 30, 2022. This form may be submitted by mail, scan/email to elections@amfanatl.org, or fax to (303) 362-7736.
