Jeremy Loney for Union Treasurer Hello, I’m Jeremy Loney, and I’m running for AMFA Local 605 Treasurer. I’ve been with Jazz Aviation for almost 19 years, with experience in two different departments, and I’ve always believed in standing up for what's right and looking out for my coworkers. When our Local 605 was created, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I stepped forward and volunteered for the Local 605 treasurer. I knew how important it was to keep things running smoothly, so I took on the responsibility with the goal of ensuring the union’s finances stayed organized and transparent during the transition. That experience made it clear to me just how important this role is, and I’m ready to continue serving in an official capacity. If I’m elected as treasurer, I’ll continue to bring that same level of dedication to managing the union’s finances. I believe in transparency, accountability, and making sure every dollar is used wisely to support our members and our goals. I’ll keep the books clear, the reports honest, and the process open to all. I’ve always been passionate about employee rights and union work. I care deeply about fairness, respect in the workplace, and making sure every member feels heard and supported. I am someone who shows up, does the work, and stands by my team. With my experience, commitment, and history of stepping up when it counts, I’m ready to keep serving and help make our union even stronger. I’d appreciate your support. Vote for me, Jeremy Loney, for Local Treasurer. Let’s keep moving forward—together. Sincerely, |

My name is Joey Whittaker, and I am seeking your support in running for Treasurer of AMFA local 605. I started my career in aviation just over eight years ago at Jazz Technical Services. In this time I have gone from an Apprentice engineer to a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Avionics ACA. I currently hold a position as Shop Steward at JTS and as we go into contract negotiations later this year, am also an active member of our Contract Proposals Committee. I have leaned into this role with purpose and sincerity, and committed myself fully to do my best as a representative for our membership. As a Shop Rep, I try and take advantage of any education opportunities and training which includes: Human Rights, Grievance handling and Workplace , Leadership, Conflict Resolution, Mental Health First Aid, and AMFA Shop Steward Training - Basic. I have a strong interest in personal finance and budgeting, as well as experience with small business activities. I am running for this position because I believe responsible financial stewardship is critical in building trust and strength of our newly created Local. My vision for Local 605 is to continue to work with our members to bring awareness of the importance of our role as AME’s and support positions. With the help of the entire AMFA organization, to elevate our craft and to provide the best representation for our entire membership, regardless of employer, hangar, or workgroup. Most importantly, I commit to you all, to serve with integrity, complete transparency and accountability in the responsible management of our financial resources. Thank you for your time and allowing me to share this with you. As we move forward, I truly believe we are strongest when we all work together. A simple message that has resonated with me since my most recent Shop Rep training, “There is no problem we cannot solve together, and very few we can solve alone.” All the best. |

Local Safety & Standards Chair |

When I stepped up to help form Local 605 as the Interim Local Safety and Standards Chair, it was driven by a strong sense of duty to our members and the integrity of our profession. I come from a long line of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, and I’m proud to carry that legacy as a third-generation AME. Their example instilled in me a lifelong respect for the craft and a deep commitment to the standards that keep our industry safe. Being at L3 Harris during AMFA’s early days here has been both a privilege and a powerful reminder of why strong union representation matters. My journey began at Canadore College, the same place my father, Alex Dahr, has taught for over 25 years. It’s more than just a school to me, it’s where my passion for aviation was sharpened and where I came to fully understand the weight of our responsibilities as AMEs. As a candidate for Local Safety and Standards Chair, I bring hands-on experience, a strong sense of accountability, and a belief in transparent, two-way communication. I’ve seen the critical need for dependable safety leadership and a professional standards process that not only holds the line but also supports and defends our members when they need it most. Our profession plays a critical role in aviation safety, yet it often goes unrecognized. It's time the public and industry truly understood who ensures their safety in the skies. As your representative, I’ll push for greater visibility and respect for our trade nationwide. I’m committed to addressing your safety concerns, providing strong representation, and holding companies accountable for protecting AMEs on the job because everyone deserves to come home safe at the end of the day. Vote Cooper Dahr for Local Safety and Standards Chair — committed to strengthening safety, respect, and recognition for our profession. Cooper Dahr |

Good day, my name is Jeff Decker, and I have been an employee of Jazz/JTS for over 19 years as an AME. I started my health and safety journey as an OSH rep in 2014, and I became enthralled with this often overlooked area of our everyday work lives ever since. I have taken several OSH orientated training courses as a rep, particularly in dealing with the CLC and how to navigate within it, which has proven to be extremely helpful with dealing with issues small and large. In 2019, the unionized position for a National OSH Coordinator became available, and I stepped forward to continue my health and safety education and experience. While in that leadership role, I became the Co-Chair of the local OSH committee in 2020. That role has me participating in many investigations and monitoring programs. I have gained valuable experience with dealing with local management personnel and how to navigate issues that arise. In the early part of 2023, I was selected to be the Co-Chair of the company policy committee. With this position, my OSH knowledge and experience has grown at an exponential rate. With this role I have been dealing with OSH related issues at a policy level and have been very active with the committee. I have helped change several policies for the better of not just the maintenance group, but for all departments employed by the company. One of the major areas I have gained experience and knowledge within this role is having to deal and communicate with all levels of management to problem-solve and rectify issues. I have taken company and union issued health and safety courses that have expanded my knowledge, and most of all, it has made me want to continue to learn and grow within the health and safety world. Thank you to all the members for taking the time to read my profile and showing interest in health and safety. I always look at health and safety as a team, because we are all in this together, and together we'll make sure we keep safety to the upmost standards and keep each other safe so we can all enjoy what's important to us. Stay safe, take care of yourself and each other! Cheers, |

AMFA Region IV Director |

Hello TEAM 605, My name is Ian Evershed, I am currently the Airline Representative at WestJet Airlines, and I am running for the National Office position of Region IV Director. I have had the great pleasure of meeting many of you and look forward to the opportunity to serve this team as your National Representative. Throughout my nearly 30 years in Aviation, I have always been an advocate for my peers and an ambassador of positive change and improvement. From my days as Heliport Campus VP at Canadore College supporting my fellow students in academic and social issues, to the picket lines at airports across Canada in 2024 as WestJet ALR, the goal has always been the same; improve the day to day lives of my peer group by actively bringing forward our concerns to those that can affect change. The unity and solidarity of our group is the strength that makes this task successful and is a privilege to be a part of. In my early days as an apprentice at Royal Airlines, my colleagues nominated me as Employee Representative. As a team we negotiated some of the highest pay rates in Canada. I was not yet licensed, but worked with other reps to integrate Royal, Canjet and Canada3000 in 2001, resulting in an industry-leading agreement that was unfortunately short-lived. I have worked at several airlines before settling down at WestJet, keeping pace with employee advocacy as Union Steward, or simply speaking up for my fellow teammates for fair treatment and improved working conditions. At WestJet, I have served as Employee Rep and now as Airline Rep since certification with AMFA, addressing the concerns of my peers and advocating for positive improvement in all aspects of AME life. In 2023/2024, alongside an impressive negotiating team, we created an industry-changing collective agreement that has truly transformed the standard of AME compensation in Canada. Throughout my career this has been my most important assignment. It is an honor to serve as Airline Representative; to negotiate, implement and now enforce a contract in a newly Unionized environment. The success of our achievement is directly attributed to the AMEs that stood beside me and supported me through the battle. Together we accomplished something that many thought was unachievable; we petitioned and met with government, and successfully urged the CIRB to consider the demands of AMEs at Air Canada. AMFA is now experiencing exponential growth and I have had the pleasure to meet many of you at CalmAir, Jazz, and JTS throughout your certification drives. I hope to serve you as Region IV Director and help build the future of AMFA in Canada. There is much to do and I am committed to working in any capacity as we move our craft and trade onward and upwards. Thank you for your support. In Solidarity, |

I Tim Way am a candidate for the position of AMFA Regional IV Director and I am committed to working with you and your elected representatives at WestJet, Jazz, JTS, L3Harris and CalmAir in our AMFA Local 605. I am committed to improving your rights, recognition, working conditions and compensation for the important work you all do. I have 30+ years of experience fighting for member rights and 35 years as an AME and a unionized member in the airline industry here in Canada. I have worked in both line maintenance and in heavy maintenance for Jazz and JTS. I am currently an acting Crew Chief and hold endorsements on all the aircraft in our fleet. I have held various union representation roles over the years including President of a Local and was a member of the Bargaining committee for 30+ years which included roughly 14 years as a Bargaining Chairperson. I have been involved in merging units, bargaining collective agreements, have dealt with return to work issues, general work issues, harassment issues, grievances and arbitrations. I have been involved with Aviation Councils and I am currently a Co-Chairperson on a Trade Advisory Committee with the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency which is dealing with an employer application for a new provincial aircraft maintenance technician trade and provincial license. This is not a Transport Canada AME license. I am on this committee to make sure we as AMEs are represented and have a voice while ensuring correct information is provided to the NSAA Board on this application. I have accumulated numerous training courses over the years some of which are: Canadian Labour Congress, CLC, grievance training, CLC advanced grievance training, dealing with management, and conflict resolution training. It is long overdue that employers recognize and compensate AMEs and Aircraft Workers for the important critical services we provide in making sure aircraft are safe for the public to travel on. I am committed to upholding safety and improving your rights, recognition, compensation and working conditions. |
