Important Notes from AMFA regarding the NMB Voting Process
Mar 30, 2022
  1. The sample ballot is just that, a sample. You don’t vote with the sample ballot. The actual ballot will be mailed out by the NMB on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. You vote using the actual ballot mailed to you on April 6, 2022 by the NMB.

  2. The sample voting instructions should be the same as those that you will receive with the actual ballot one week after you receive the sample ballot. The ONLY thing to be marked on the actual ballot when it is received is an “X” in the top first box that says AIRCRAFT MECHANICS FRATERNAL ASSOCIATION (AMFA). An X means an X and not a check mark or any other mark.

  3. DO NOT sign the Ballot. It is a secret ballot. No one wants to know it you is who voted on a specific ballot. Nothing else should be marked on the ballot other than the X in the top first box. If you sign the ballot or make any other marks on the ballot, your vote will not be counted.

  4. PLACE the ballot in the RETURN mailing envelope. Postage has been pre-paid by the National Mediation Board. Then, PRINT your name on the first line under the attest on the back of the envelope, and then also SIGN your name on the second line. You must do both of these things, print your name AND sign your name. Your signature on the envelope will be checked against the signature samples the NMB has on file for eligible voters.

  5. DEPOSIT this envelope in the U.S. Mail as soon as you vote so the NATIONAL MEDIATION BOARD receives it before the tally.

  6. DO NOT get together with others to vote in so called mailing parties as this will result in your vote being nullified if there is evidence of such conduct. Vote on your own, do so promptly, and mail the envelope provided by the NMB as soon as you have voted. Don’t delay voting to ensure the NMB receives your ballot in time for the tally.

  7. If you do not receive your Official Ballot by April 11, 2022, you may contact the NMB to request a duplicate ballot. Your request must be in writing and signed by you. The request must be in an individual envelope. No group requests are accepted. Requests by telephone, email, or facsimile are not accepted. Mail the request to: NMB, Office of Legal Affairs, 1301 K Street, NW, Suite 250E, Washington, DC 20005. No requests will be accepted after May 18, 2022.
