The AMFA-SCA Negotiating Committee (“Committee”) is providing this update to the membership at Sun Country Airlines (“Sun Country”). This is the only official source of negotiating communications by the Committee.

The Parties met in Chicago on May 20-22, 2025, for a three-day mediated bargaining session.

On Day 1, the Company submitted proposals on all open items through a term sheet, including standalone attachments addressing: the Traveling Technician Appendix to the CBA; Article 7 – Holidays; Article 20 – Transportation; and Part-Time Employees. This combination of proposals presented by the Company was a productive move that brought the Parties closer on the issues, but there was still work to be done.

The Company’s economic movement on wages varied based on classification, and for certain classifications, the Company continues to offer a single rate of pay, rather than a wage scale that rewards seniority. However, the Company did not move and continued to propose only the current practices on 401(k) and Insurance Benefits.

The Company’s proposal also included language that moved the Parties closer to alignment on Holidays, including regarding the manner in which Floating Holiday hours may be utilized. The Company made similar movement on the Transportation and Moving Expenses article for voluntary and Company-requested moves within the system.

For the remainder of Day 1 and into the afternoon of Day 2, AMFA caucused, working diligently to prepare a counterproposal.

On the afternoon of Day 2, AMFA presented its counterproposal on all open items except Article 20 – Transportation and Moving Expenses. The Parties, through their respective proposals, found tentative alignment on issues contained within the Traveling Technician Appendix except for wages. AMFA’s counterproposal on Article 7 – Holidays was designed to reward you for your hard work and service to Sun Country Airlines as well as to protect your work/life balance with regards to scheduling when requested or required to work on a holiday. After AMFA made its proposals, the Parties broke for the day.

At the outset of Day 3, AMFA presented its counterproposal on Article 20 – Transportation and Moving Expenses to clarify the open issues and streamline the language. The Company then passed a counterproposal on Article 7 – Holidays. The Parties remain apart on the number of Holidays that can be used as Floating Holiday hours.

Later in the day, the Company presented another counterproposal on Article 20 – Transportation and Moving Expenses, which brought the Parties closer on this article. AMFA reviewed the Company’s counterproposal, caucused and prepared another counterproposal on this article, which was emailed to the Company after the Parties left to travel home. We are hopeful that our last proposal on Transportation and Moving Expenses will bring the Parties to a tentative agreement (TA) on this article.

The NMB Mediator will be scheduling a video-conference bargaining session for a half-day during the week of July 7, 2025, with the exact date still to be determined. After that, the Mediator has scheduled the Parties to meet the following week, July 16-18, in Washington, DC.

Your AMFA Committee greatly appreciates the continued messages in support of our work at the table on your behalf. If you have any questions related to negotiations, please reach out to your ALR, Tony Christner.

Fraternally,

Your AMFA-SCA Negotiating Committee
