AMFA has a unique organizational structure driven by membership participation at the Local level. Each Local is governed by its own bylaws approved by the membership. This Local autonomy is established and enhanced by the AMFA Constitution. The membership is represented by an elected Local Executive Council (LEC). Each airline within a Local is represented by an Airline Representative. All financial and other information required to be filed by the LEC is made available to the membership, and seats at the LEC meetings are made available to members. Twenty-five percent of the Locals can initiate the recall of any National officer.
Locals are comprised of members in a locality who are actively engaged in aircraft maintenance or support for any represented carrier.
In areas, or ancillary stations, where there are not sufficient numbers of AMFA members to support an independent Local these members are assigned to a Local.
