Labor Makes the Difference Every Day
Sep 01, 2025

September 1, 2025

Dear Members:

Labor Day is a day to recognize and honor generations of skilled workers whose dedication, craft, skill, and unity have shaped our world today. That spirit lives every day through AMFA and its Members.

AMFA was founded on a simple yet powerful principle: skilled aircraft maintenance professionals deserve representation that values their craft and amplifies their voices. As a craft/trade Union, we have remained true to that foundation—and committed to elevating the professional standing of technicians while achieving progressive improvements in wages, benefits, and working conditions that make real differences in our Members’ lives.

Over the years, that commitment has yielded real victories. From securing industry-leading collective bargaining agreements to defending your rights on the frontline to improving safety standards and workplace protections, every win has been a result of our Members’ resolve and solidarity. Together, we lead the industry.

AMFA has proven that we win when we stand together. At the very core of our Union is our commitment to respecting each other and our shared vision. The strength of our Union lies in the solidarity shown in negotiations, in daily workplace advocacy, and in standing shoulder to shoulder for one another. This unity has made AMFA strong since 1962.

This Labor Day, as we celebrate not only the contributions of working people across the country, but also reflect on the roots of this holiday—born from the labor movement’s fight for dignity, fair wages, and safer working conditions. That same fight lives on in AMFA Members today, who keep our skies safe, our industry moving, and the standards of our craft at the highest level.

Happy Labor Day.

On Behalf of the NEC,

Bret Oestreich
National President
