AMFA Supports CUPE-AC Flight Attendants
Aug 14, 2025

August 14, 2025

Dear Mr. Lesosky, President, Air Canada Component of CUPE:

The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) represents over 2,000 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) and aviation-skilled trade professionals at five Canadian air carriers and operators. AMFA stands with the dedicated Air Canada Flight Attendants of CUPE in their fight for fair wages, respect, and improved working conditions, which have been suppressed for a decade.

We know firsthand the dedication and professionalism required to keep Air Canada operating safely and smoothly. A shared commitment to safety, professionalism, and service unites our crafts. When one group of aviation professionals is undervalued, the entire industry feels the impact. Air Canada’s solicitation of federal government intervention, instead of bargaining, is grossly negligent and will harm the industry and the flying public in the long run.

We call on Air Canada to negotiate in good faith and recognize the vital role flight attendants play in keeping the skies safe and passengers cared for.

When aviation workers stand together, we all rise.

Solidarity with CUPE-AC Flight Attendants.

Sincerely,

Bret Oestreich
National President
Ian Evershed
Region IV Director
