Hello Team Ornge:
As you know, the representation vote closed on March 17, 2026, at 1pm EDT. We are happy to report extremely high participation, with 96% of eligible voters casting ballots.
Prior to the vote, the Office and Professional Employees International Union (“OPEIU”) filed a complaint with the Canada Industrial Relations Board regarding Ornge’s violations of the Canada Labour Code. The OPEIU alleged that these violations would impact the fairness of the vote.
The Board has confirmed that the actual results of the vote will remain sealed until it can review the OPEIU’s allegations. Briefing on the OPEIU’s complaint is ongoing.
We know that delay in the certification process is not in anyone’s interest. AMFA will continue to engage in the process and will oppose further delay. Please be patient as the Board completes the certification process and always retain the highest level of professionalism in the execution of your duties as we work through this transition period together.
