March 18, 2026 -- As you know, the representation vote closed on March 17, 2026, at 1 pm EDT. We are happy to report extremely high participation, with 96% of eligible voters casting ballots.
March 6, 2026 -- On February 24, 2026, the Canada Industrial Relations Board ("Board") ordered a representation vote between AMFA and the OPEIU to determine which union will represent the maintenance employees at Ornge. The Board’s Industrial Relations Officer has recently indicated that the vote will open on March 11, 2026.
January 21, 2026 -- I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all of you to the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association. AMFA’s application for certification has now been received and acknowledged by the CIRB and is currently going through the process established by the Board.
January 15, 2026 -- The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) has filed for certification to represent Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) at Ornge Air as of January 12, 2026. The filing covers the AMEs responsible for maintaining Ornge’s AW139 medium twin helicopters and Pilatus PC-12 NG single-engine turboprops, which support the largest integrated air ambulance and critical care land ambulance operation in Canada and serve patients across Ontario.
January 14, 2026 -- We’re excited to let you know that we filed for certification as the bargaining agent for you and your colleagues at Ornge with the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) on January 12, 2026.
