CENTENNIAL, Colo. – February 20, 2026 – The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) today expressed strong support for the Airspace Location and Enhanced Risk Transparency (ALERT) Act of 2026, praising congressional leaders for advancing bipartisan legislation designed to strengthen aviation safety and enhance risk communication standards across the National Airspace System.

“AMFA applauds the bipartisan leadership in the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee and the House Armed Services Committee in advancing the ALERT Act of 2026,” said AMFA National President, Bret Oestreich.” This legislation strengthens safety, improves transparency, and reinforces our shared commitment to protecting the flying public and the professionals who maintain our nation’s aircraft. We appreciate the collaborative effort that brought this bill forward and look forward to continuing our work together to support policies that enhance aviation safety and operational integrity.”

The ALERT Act seeks to modernize and improve the flow of critical airspace and risk-related information, ensuring that operators, technicians, and frontline aviation professionals have timely access to data essential for safe operations. AMFA has long advocated for initiatives that elevate safety standards and promote clear, consistent communication across the aviation ecosystem..
