Re: Status of TA Ratification Referendum and Update on Ratification Bonus

Dear AMFA Brothers and Sisters:

The AMFA–Southwest Airlines (SWA) AMT Tentative Agreement (TA) Ratification Referendum commenced on April 23, 2019, and the voting period will conclude at 10:00AM ET on May 21, 2019, the day of the tally.

Ratification bonus amounts as described in Letter of Agreement (LOA) #4 are being calculated by the AMFA–SWA Negotiating Committee and our Economist utilizing payroll and personnel data provided by Southwest Airlines. Both the AMFA and SWA Negotiating Committees have been persistently working behind the scenes to audit and validate the company provided data to ensure the ratification bonus amounts are accurately calculated in accordance with LOA #4 C (1) and (2). There are only a few remaining issues that the parties are collaboratively reconciling.

The Company will then verify that AMFA’s calculations do not exceed the $160M agreed upon in the TA, validate the final individual numbers, and send the numbers to each individual’s Company email address. This process will be completed and values will be sent to each member prior to the end of the voting period.

Thank you for your patience during this process as it is of the utmost importance to verify that the values generated in accordance with LOA #4 are accurate. Hang in there, we see the light at the end of the tunnel.
