CENTENNIAL, CO -- May 16, 2019 -- The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) National Executive Council (NEC) is proud to announce the two recipients of the AMFA Scholarship for 2019. Those who applied had to be currently enrolled in a school to gain their Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, had to be a US Citizen, and were required to submit a 500-word essay explaining what “safety in the air begins with quality maintenance on the ground” means to the applicant.

The two $2500 AMFA Scholarship recipients for 2019 are Forrest Key from South Seattle Community College in Seattle, WA and Scott Pearce from Hallmark University in San Antonio, TX.

“Once again, AMFA is honored to have the opportunity to give back and help young students as they pursue a career in aviation,” said Bret Oestreich, AMFA National Director. “AMFA’s goals are to raise awareness in the industry, encourage a higher standard of skill, and to raise the standards of the class and craft of mechanics and related individuals. We received applications from many exceptional students, and we are encouraged to know that the next generation will continue our mission.”

Congratulations to this year’s recipients. It is inspiring to get a glimpse at the passion and quality of the next generation of Aircraft Maintenance Technicians.
