Call for AMFA Accident/Incident Investigation Party Coordinator and SME Applicants
Nov 19, 2025

November 18, 2025

AMFA is currently accepting applications for Accident/Incident Investigation Party Coordinator and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support all areas of aircraft maintenance in Canada. Interviews will be held January 20–26, 2026, in Toronto. The National Safety & Standards Director (NSSD) will contact applicants selected for an interview.

The Party Coordinator serves as the on-site lead for the AMFA Accident/Incident Investigation Team. Key responsibilities include establishing early communication with the AMFA National Office and NSSD, managing initial travel and onsite expenses, and ensuring UB time and reimbursements are processed through the National Office. During investigations, the Coordinator attends Transport Canada progress meetings, conducts AMFA briefings, documents daily findings, and keeps the NSSD fully informed.

AMFA is also compiling a centralized roster of qualified AMEs and Maintenance Controllers to serve as SMEs during aircraft accident/incident investigations. SMEs support Transport Canada’s Party Process by assisting with evidence gathering, answering technical questions, contributing factual information, and sharing system or component expertise. SMEs are not expected to be the sole source of information—they provide perspective from the Aircraft Engineer or Maintenance Controller role and collaborate with representatives from all involved parties (e.g., Transport Canada, manufacturers, airlines, union SMEs, MROs, etc.).

We appreciate your interest in supporting the Association. The NSSD will notify candidates selected for inclusion in AMFA’s SME Registry.

All applications must be submitted to tom.wiggins@amfanatl.org no later than December 15, 2025.
