BREAKING NEWS: NMB Authorizes Representation Election at Alaska/Hawaiian Airlines
Nov 20, 2025

November 20, 2025

The National Mediation Board (NMB) has officially authorized a representation election to determine who will represent the combined Mechanics & Related craft/class at Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines – AMFA or IAM.

Here is what we know:

  • Eligibility cut-off date is May 9, 2025
  • Election will be conducted by mail-ballot
  • Tally will take place in Washington, DC
  • The Company must provide the NMB with mailing labels by November 25th for employees on the List of Potential Eligible Voters

AMFA will continue to provide you with the latest updates as they become available. Given the timing of this notice and the request for labels in 5 calendar days, it is possible that the ballots could be issued in the first two weeks of December.

A vote for AMFA is a vote for the strongest, most democratic, and truly independent representation in the industry. When every mechanic at the new Alaska/Hawaiian stands united under AMFA, we’ll have the power to negotiate the contract we all deserve — better pay, stronger job protections, and respect for the job we deserve.

Stay tuned for further details regarding the election schedule, procedures, and voting instructions.  In the meantime, talk to your Union representatives and your fellow co-workers to make sure everyone understands what’s at stake.

In solidarity,

AMFA NEC
