Today, AMFA represents appearance technicians at Southwest Airlines, the people who clean and prepare the aircraft for customers. Under AMFA representation, these technicians with 9 years of seniority are paid $34.74 per hour with additional longevity increases up to 20 years of service.

Demonstrated Success: AMFA’s "Rising Tides" Language
Did you know that when Southwest Airlines wants to raise wages for appearance technicians in one city to a higher step on the pay scale, they are required by the contract to pay all cleaners below that step the same higher wage? Yes. AMFA negotiated that benefit on behalf of the appearance technicians, and it continues each year to put more money in their pockets.
AMFA has negotiated similar language in the technicians and related CBAs at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. It’s called the “rising tides” language because it lifts all boats. Consider what it can do for you and your family today and in the future.
