Welcome to AMFA: Building Our Future Together
Feb 27, 2026

February 27, 2026

Dear Hawaiian Aircraft Maintenance Technicians, Cabin Service, Mx Control, GSE, Planners, Line Service, Welders, and Production Control Employees:

On behalf of the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA), we proudly welcome you to our growing family of skilled aviation professionals. We did it, and we did it together. This vote is a clear mandate that Alaska and Hawaiian skilled workgroups want a craft-specific representation that puts our licenses, skills, and careers first. Your decision to stand together under AMFA marks a pivotal moment for the skilled technicians and related professionals who keep Alaska-Hawaiian Airlines safe, reliable, and strong.

As an independent, craft-specific union, AMFA is committed to transparency, accountability, and ensuring every member has a meaningful voice. Together, we will advance fair representation, improve working conditions, and negotiate a contract that reflects the professionalism and expertise you bring to the industry.

In the coming weeks, you will receive additional information outlining the next steps in the transition process, including how to become a Member in Good Standing (MIGS), Local assignments, and the election of Local representatives. In the meantime, please register on the AMFA National website, as future communications from AMFA will be sent to your personal (not company) email address.

AMFA leaders will be visiting your stations to assist in the transition and answer your questions about your rights and obligations as AMFA-represented employees, as well as upcoming negotiations. We look forward to meeting you during these station visits and union meetings. Additional details regarding meeting times and locations will be provided soon.

We encourage you to remain engaged and vigilant. Stay connected with your AMFA officers and representatives and monitor the Alaska Airlines page of the AMFA National website for airline-specific details. You can also access Association and industry news through the AMFA National website, AMFA Local 14 and 32 websites, social media platforms, and the AMFA Insider Podcast.

Stay informed, stay involved, and continue supporting your elected representatives as we move forward together through this merger transition.

Welcome to AMFA — where the members make the difference.

In Solidarity,

Bret Oestreich
National President
