We are pleased to announce that as of April 2, 2025, AMFA has officially chartered its first Canadian local—Local 605.

March 31, 2025 -- AMFA National is calling for nominations from the membership at Jazz Aviation Line and Jazz Technical Services to fill the respective Airline Representative (ALRS) positions. The ALR serves as the primary point of contact for the affected membership.

March 10, 2025 -- AMFA’s objective for negotiating is to exercise the right of collective bargaining for the purpose of making and maintaining employment agreements covering rates of pay, work rules, and work conditions. Further objectives are to raise the standards of skill and increase the recognition of the class and craft of Mechanic and Related employees.

March 6, 2025 -- In accordance with Article XXIII of the AMFA Constitution, AMFA National is calling for contract proposals from the membership of Jazz Aviation (JZA) in preparation for the upcoming contract negotiations. Contract Proposals must be submitted electronically, and all AMFA members in good standing (MIGS) at JZA Line are eligible to participate.

February 18, 2025 -- The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) is proud to announce a historic milestone for AMFA and the Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) and related skilled professionals across Canada. We have initiated the process of establishing the first AMFA Local in Canada, marking the Association’s activation of Region IV.

January 8, 2025 -- The CIRB representative election between Unifor and AMFA concluded today, and your remarkable participation resulted in an overwhelming majority vote for AMFA. We are pleased to inform you that the Board’s official certification of AMFA as your bargaining representative is expected in the coming days.

December 31, 2024 -- On December 23, 2024, the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) authorized a vote to determine the certified bargaining agent for Jazz Aviation LP maintenance employees. The vote will take place from January 6 at 12:00pm ET through January 8 at 12:00 pm ET.

December 10, 2024 -- On November 29, 2024, the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) filed applications for certification at Jazz Technical Services and Jazz Aviation, LP. The applications cover both the line and heavy maintenance employees at the airline. Jazz is the third largest Canadian carrier by fleet size, behind Air Canada and WestJet, respectively.
