A major wave of retirements could soon leave the aviation industry scrambling for thousands of aircraft mechanics. “We’re looking at a shortage of roughly 40,000 aircraft mechanics within the next three to five years. The number of guys retiring right now is huge,” said Rob Cush, AMFA Dir. of Government Affairs.
