This decision is another step forward for craft/trade-specific labor representation for AMEs in Canada, reinforcing AMFA’s commitment to advocating for aviation maintenance skilled professionals across North America.

January 15, 2025 -- The CIRB representative election between Unifor and AMFA concluded today, and your remarkable participation resulted in over 91% vote for AMFA. We expect the Board’s official certification of AMFA as your bargaining representative in the coming days.

January 7, 2025 -- On December 30, 2024, the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) authorized a vote to determine the certified bargaining agent for Jazz Technical Services maintenance employees. The vote will occur from January 13 at 12:00pm ET through January 15 at 12:00 pm ET

December 10, 2024 -- On November 29, 2024, the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) filed applications for certification at Jazz Technical Services and Jazz Aviation, LP. The applications cover both the line and heavy maintenance employees at the airline. Jazz is the third largest Canadian carrier by fleet size, behind Air Canada and WestJet, respectively.
