OAKVILLE, ON – September 29, 2026 – AMFA members at L3 Harris voted last week in favour of accepting changes to their CBA, securing a transition agreement that anticipates the future state of operations and improving working terms and conditions through to 2029.

L3Harris Trenton Operations, a key facility within L3Harris's Military Aviation Services division located at CFB Trenton, provides dedicated in-service maintenance and logistics support for the Royal Canadian Air Force’s strategic transport fleets CC-330 Husky and CC-150 Polaris static tankers.

The current fleet of CC-150 Aircraft is approaching retirement, and the operation will sunset during the term of the existing contract. A new fleet of Airbus 330 aircraft will be introduced for STTC operations commencing in 2027. The fleet transition and protection of every member’s job were key points secured during the negotiations.  The nature of the operation will change during the transition; however, there will be no reduction in workforce at any point.  As the new fleet comes on-line, work rules are in place for existing employees to transfer into the new operation at their discretion.  These opportunities and training will be offered by seniority, and members will maintain their credentials and responsibilities during the transition.

Other changes to the agreement include base wage increases, premium increases, additional Company contributions to employee RRSP, introduction of 200% overtime pay, contractual medical/personal leave, job protection, and various language improvements. The STTC Tasking will operate under the newly developed Appendix G, which includes improved Standby Premiums for flyers as well as established rules for fair distribution of assignments and improved protection of personal scheduling.

The new STTC operation promises great job stability for the foreseeable future with strong growth potential.  AMFA members will have the opportunity to work under the STTC contract for many years to come.  Future plans include a full expansion in the West as the fleet grows to nine aircraft.  That expansion and any future work will fall under this contract if extended, an exclusive choice AMFA can make in 2029 at the end of the existing term.

The Negotiating Committee is proud of this MOA's accomplishments and thanks members for their continued support.
