Dear AMFA-Represented Members at Alaska Airlines & Future Hawaiian Members:
AMFA is committed to keeping you informed on the ongoing Alaska Airlines–Hawaiian Airlines merger. The National Mediation Board (NMB) has set a September 16 deadline for the carriers to submit samples of employee signatures. The NMB is awaiting these signature samples, and therefore, it has not yet been confirmed by the NMB that the IAM has made an adequate showing of interest to be included on the ballot.
September 16 is also the deadline for challenges to the Company’s submitted list of eligible voters for a future union election. Responses to any eligibility challenges submitted by the parties are due by September 30. The NMB has not yet decided whether the mail ballots will be issued after it resolves any eligibility challenges or while those challenges are still pending. Once the mail ballots are issued, we anticipate the NMB will provide 8 to 10 weeks for voters to return their ballots.
While we wait for additional guidance, know that your AMFA team is continuing to work diligently behind the scenes, preparing for every scenario and maintaining our focus on protecting your rights and strengthening your position in the industry.
AMFA has also launched a new website, AMFAdelivers.org. This website is designed to provide updates on representation and showcase AMFA’s core values, our proud record of advocacy, and the unparalleled results of the critical work we do every day on behalf of aviation maintenance professionals.
AMFAdelivers.org is accessible to the public, so please share it with friends, colleagues, and anyone with Hawaiian who may be interested in learning about what AMFA truly delivers—and encourage them to sign up on the site to receive more news from AMFA. You do not have to be a current AMFA Member to sign up to receive more information. We are committed to keeping everyone informed with the facts on the NMB process, representation information, and current CBA language; signing up on the website is a good way for future AMFA Members to stay informed.
Sincerely,
Brandon Statfield, AMFA Local 14 ALR
