Dear AMFA Members and Future Members,
We're keeping you in the loop on the Alaska Airlines–Hawaiian Airlines merger. Your AMFA team is working hard behind the scenes to protect your rights and prep for what's next. Here is the most recent update:
On September 16, 2025, both AMFA and the IAM submitted their respective objections to the eligibility list. AMFA's objections have been posted on the websites: AMFA National, Local 14, Local 32, and AMFAdelivers.org.
The IAM's submission sought to exclude from eligibility twenty-one individuals in the job classifications of Aircraft Technician, Avionics Technician, and Maintenance Controller. A number of the technicians have had their employment terminated by Alaska; however, it is AMFA's position that any terminated employee with a pending grievance should not be denied the right to vote.
The NMB had set a deadline of September 30 for each of the parties to respond to the objections submitted September 16.
However, the IAM has petitioned the NMB for an extension of its deadline until October 15, 2025. We anticipate that the NMB will grant the IAM's requested extension.
