Dear AMFA Represented Members at Alaska Airlines & future Hawaiian Members:
The Government shutdown is officially over! Now that the government is back to work, the NMB will begin to review the “showing of interest” that the IAM submitted to the NMB in September. We anticipate this to be a 2-3week process. Upon completion of the showing of interest review, the NMB will determine whether the IAM has sufficient “showing of interest”, which will determine if the IAM is represented on the Union Representation ballot. These ballots will be distributed by the NMB and will be mailed to your home address that you have on file with the carrier. We encourage everyone to verify that their physical address in PeopleSoft is the address where you receive mail. AMFA’s legal team has reached out to the NMB for an official status update of the process and for an updated timeline. Additional information will be communicated once we have a response from the NMB.
AMFA will be hosting a webinar on Thursday, November 20 at 0800 and 1300 PST. Additional information can be found at AMFAdelivers.org. We encourage everyone to register for this event and
submit questions for the Q&A section. This will be an informative webinar with the Alaska ALRs, AMFA National, and AMFA Legal. If you are unable to attend, we will be providing a recap of the event.
