August 11, 2018 -- The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) is saddened by last night's Horizon Air Q400 incident. Our heart goes out to the individual's family and to Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines employees.
Authorities initially stated the man was an aircraft mechanic, but the parent company, Alaska Air Group, later confirmed he was a ground service agent (ground ramp worker) employed by Horizon Air. He was not an AMFA-Alaska Airlines member. AMFA represents approximately 700 Aircraft Maintenance Technicians at Alaska Airlines.
