NMB to Rerun Representation Election Due to Mailing and Printing Errors

Dear Sun Country Mechanics and Related Employees:
This is to advise that the National Mediation Board (“NMB”) will be rerunning the election for the Mechanics and Related Employees at Sun Country Airlines due to errors in the initial mailing of the ballots.
First, the initial ballot mailing lacked the square boxes on the ballots that were mailed. Without the square boxes on the ballot where the “X” mark is to be placed, no vote is possible.
In addition, pursuant to the request of the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (“AMFA”), the NMB is investigating the names and addresses on the mailing labels that were supplied by the Carrier which resulted in some ballots being erroneously addressed and mailed to eligible voters at the addresses of other eligible voters. This is yet another circumstance that made it impossible to vote, because the recipient of such an incorrectly addressed ballot envelope is not the intended recipient of the ballot. The only person who can cast the ballot received is the person who is named on the envelope, which in these instances are not the person to whom the ballot had been mailed. If you are the recipient of such an NMB ballot, which was addressed to someone else, but mailed to you at your address, then please provide a copy or photo of the misaddressed envelope to AMFA’s attorney at firstname.lastname@example.org or contact NMB Investigator Bautista directly at (202) 692-5000.
AMFA expects that the NMB will soon issue an order to rerun the election for the Mechanics and Related Employees at Sun Country Airlines in NMB Case No. R-7578.
