AMFA was certified at L3 Harris Mas (L3) on October 18, 2022, and the Association currently represents approximately 40 L3 members who are a distinct, federally regulated trade group responsible for the repair and certification of the CC150 Polaris aircraft fleet, air-to-air refueling aircraft, and the Prime Minister’s aircraft.
September 25, 2024 -- On September 20, 2024, AMFA L3 Airline Representative Sean Askin and Region II Director Will Abbott met with L3 representatives to discuss the terms of the Company’s proposed memorandum of agreement (MOA) on wages.

March 9, 2023 -- AMFA and L3 have finalized housekeeping items in the recently ratified CBA and have required signatures from both parties to reach a final resolution. Additionally, after much collaboration with both L3 Harris MAS (L3) management and Edward Jones Financial Group, we are finalizing the final step to complete the transition from the IAM Pension Plan to an L3-funded, individually directed Retirement Savings Plan.

November 1, 2022 -- On October 18, 2022, the Canadian Industrial Relation Board (CIRB) officially certified the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) as the collective bargaining agent for the aircraft maintenance professionals at L3 Harris MAS as CFB Trenton (L3). October 4, 2022 -- The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) is extremely elated and honored to announce the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) certified AMFA as the trade union representative, followed by an overwhelming majority representation vote of the Canadian aircraft maintenance engineers (AMEs and Leads), aircraft technicians and apprentices (maintenance group), and occupational support services (OSS) employees from L3 Technologies MAS at CFB Trenton. The group was previously represented by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM).

September 14, 2022 – The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) is happy to announce the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) authorized and ordered a representation vote for the Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) from L3 Harris Technologies MAS Inc. at CFB Trenton, who approached AMFA seeking representation in July this year. "This is the start of a new chapter for both AMFA and the AMEs in Canada,” said Bret Oestreich, AMFA National President.

September 14, 2022 -- We are pleased to inform you that on September 14, 2022, Canadian Industrial Relation Board (“CIRB”) notified all parties that the CIRB has authorized a representation election in CIRB File No. 035864-C for the Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) and Related employees at L3 Technologies MAS Inc. at CFB Trenton to choose to be represented by the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (“AMFA”) or the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
