Dear AMFA Members:
AEI is saddened to announce the recent passing of one of its founding members and most staunch supporters, Mr. John Alldis. At about the same time that O.V. Delle-Femine was forming AMFA in the early 1960s, John was a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer working in Austrailia and was represented by the metals union. He and other engineers recognized the need for their own craft-specific union and formed the Austrainlian Licensed Aircraft Engineers Association (ALAEA), a brother union to AMFA.
John recognized the need for a global affiliation of licensed aircraft maintenance engineers and technicians and went to work on forming AEI in 1971 to respond the challenges our craft faces aroung the world from opertaters and regulators.
