AMFA-SOUTHWEST AIRLINES AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS RATIFY CONTRACT EXTENSION
CENTENNIAL, CO – July 27, 2023 – The Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) membership voted overwhelmingly to ratify their recently negotiated contract extension agreement at Southwest Airlines. The new industry-leading agreement provides top-of-scale wage increases of 20.5 percent over a three-year period.
“We are proud of both negotiating committees who worked hard during these negotiations. It is gratifying to see our wages rightfully increase and AMFA continuing to lead with industry-changing agreements,” said Bret Oestreich, AMFA National President. “We are meeting our objective to continue to raise industry standards and make the carriers recognize the importance of our highly skilled professionals as a stakeholder to both carrier’s operations and the public trust.”
This agreement provides AMTs all-in top-of-scale wage increases to $65.79 which compensates our members for their dedication, hard work, and their Boeing 737 skillsets.
“With the wage gains in this contract, SWA will be able to attract and retain the professional workforce it needs while allowing the company to grow and prosper,” Oestreich says.
This newly ratified contract affords significant pay increases that put AMFA-SWA AMTs wages above other non-union and union-represented major carriers, including those currently at Delta Airlines ($62.02), United Airlines ($60.25), and American Airlines ($58.45).
