Dear L3 Harris MAS Members:
We are excited to announce we have finally concluded the transition period bringing the L3 Harris MAS (L3) members under AMFA representation.
Your group agreed upon a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) prior to AMFA certification at L3. AMFA and L3 have finalized housekeeping items in the recently ratified CBA and have required signatures from both parties to reach a final resolution. Additionally, after much collaboration with both L3 Harris MAS (L3) management and Edward Jones Financial Group, we are finalizing the final step to complete the transition from the IAM Pension Plan to an L3-funded, individually directed Retirement Savings Plan. Thank you for your fortitude and perseverance throughout this process.
Now that the CBA is in place, Local 4 will soon be conducting a special election to give the L3 membership the opportunity to nominate and elect an Airline Representative in accordance with the AMFA Local 4 Bylaws. Please stay tuned to the Local 4 website for further updates.
In continuing AMFA’s membership outreach and communication initiative, AMFA National has recently deployed a revamped National website – check it! Local 4 also has a website as well as a smartphone app to better communicate with their members. Please note, the National and Local 4 websites and smartphone apps operate independently; therefore, members are encouraged to register with the AMFA National website and AMFA app as well as the Local 4 website and app. Check out AMFA’s Quick Links page to discover the many tools the Association uses to spread Association and industry-related updates.
I ask that you continue to actively engage in our movement across Canada so that Aircraft Maintenance Engineers will finally be given the international respect, recognition, and support they deserve. Our efforts will only succeed with your support and participation. We encourage you to please stay engaged and informed.
