The AMFA–Sun Country Airlines Negotiating Committee has requested that a referendum vote be taken to determine whether AMFA is authorized by its members to call for a legal strike at Sun Country Airlines. If authorized through this referendum, AMFA would be empowered by its members employed at Sun Country Airlines to call for a legal strike at Sun Country Airlines following a release from mediation by the National Mediation Board (NMB) and upon expiration of a thirty-day cooling off period in accordance with the Railway Labor Act (RLA). Therefore, pursuant to Article XXIII of the Constitution, AMFA National is conducting a strike authorization referendum.
Votes for this referendum will be cast using the ElectionBuddy system, and all active AMFA members in good standing (MIGS) employed by Sun Country Airlines will be eligible to vote. The Referendum Notice and Instructions will be emailed to each eligible voter’s personal email address on December 19, 2024.
Note: In accordance with the Constitution, any AMFA member employed by Sun Country Airlines whose membership dues have not been paid is not considered to be a MIGS and, therefore, will not be eligible to vote in this strike authorization referendum. Employees who are presently not Members are strongly urged to register with MemberLink (under Member Resources on the AMFA National website) and pay dues to and become a MIGS to be eligible to participate in this important vote. After completing this step, please email elections@amfanatl.org using your personal email address to request your voting credentials.
Any MIGS who has not received voting instructions by email should first check their spam/junk folder and then contact elections@amfanatl.org or 720-744-6629.
The voting period for this referendum will end at 10:00 am et on December 31, 2024, the day of the tally.
